In April, we’ll work a treadway rehabilitation project on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail by Skyland Resort in Shenandoah National Park on the 18th & 19th 25th & 26th!

Meeting Place & Parking

Skyline Stables parking area (10.3 miles south of Thornton Gap Entrance Station).

Directions from Washington D.C.

  • Take I-66 west to US Route 29 at Gainesville VA
  • Follow US Route 29 south to the Warrenton Bypass
  • Take the Warrenton Bypass west to US Route 211
  • Exit US Route 29 at the Thornton Gap Entrance Station to Shenandoah National Park
  • Follow the Skyline Drive about 10.3 miles south to Skyland Stables parking area (second entrance to Skyland Resort; across from White Oak Canyon trail parking area)

Overnight Accommodations

NEW!—We will stay overnight Saturday at the historic White Oak Cabin. This National Park Service facility boasts electricity, a kitchen, indoor plumbing, bath, and bunk rooms.

Food

NEW!—The crew leader is the chef, so be prepared to feast!

Bring your lunch for Saturday and at least three quarts (or liters) of water.
