The Tuscarora Trail traverses many areas where hunting is permitted. Hikers are advised to wear appropriate blaze-orange clothing during hunting seasons or not hike on the trail at all except where the trail is on roads or other locations where hunting is obviously not permitted.
Hunting is not allowed on lands administered by the Park.
The Tuscarora Trail passes through the Lee Ranger District, where hunting is permitted during hunting season.
The Bureau of Forestry regulates hunting under Section 51.63 of its regulations. Hunting and trapping are permitted in accordance with Pennsylvania game laws on all bureau lands unless otherwise posted. Hunting and trapping are allowed on the Tuscarora Trail.
The Bureau of State Parks regulates hunting under §31.10 of its regulations. Hunting and trapping are allowed in “designated hunting areas” in accordance with Pennsylvania game laws. Trapping may be permitted in areas not designated for hunting with a special permit. Hunting is allowed on some portions of the Tuscarora Trail.
The Tuscarora Trail passes through the Indian Springs Wildlife Management Area, where hunting is permitted during hunting season.
The Tuscarora Trail passes through the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area, which is open to the public for hunting during designated seasons.
