Each Tuscarora Trail district manager is responsible for monitoring activities along the trail corridor by conducting an annual personal observation and reviewing the reports of trail overseers, the trail patrol, and other volunteers. Unusual activity or violations of Club policy shall be reported in accordance with procedures established by the Supervisor of Trails.
Each manager of PATC-owned or managed tracts is responsible for monitoring conditions of easements, and other factors that affect the use of corridor lands. The tract manager shall report changes in land use, damage from natural causes, and threats to scenic, cultural, or historical features in accordance with procedures established by the Supervisor of Lands.
PATC volunteers act as the “eyes and ears” for partners in accordance with local understandings. In some cases, volunteers may be monitoring national forest and park lands with assistance from agency employees. PATC volunteers may provide an “on-the-ground” presence that discourages misuse or abuse of public and private lands and resources. Potential and actual abuse of Trail corridor lands shall be reported in accordance with guidance furnished above.
