Welcome to the Acme Treadway Company Trail Crew!
Our crew began working together back in 2002, when we restored the Appalachian Trail where it crosses Brown Gap in Shenandoah National Park. We are a “roving” crew, so we are called to help on a variety of public hiking trails maintained by the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club.
There’s always a place on our crew for new members. Age is not a factor, so long as you’re at least 21 and can walk, carry tools, and use them out in the back country. Don’t know how to build or restore a hiking trail? No problem—we’ll train you in their safe use.
Browse around and see what we have done, where we did it, and where we’re likely to go out, again! There is never a dearth of projects needed to be done, so you will have many opportunities to come out, work with us, and have a lot of fun. Bookmark our calendar and keep checking it for the project that compels you to go out into woods with us!
